Nylon suitcase
Next to leather, nylon is the classic among suitcase materials. Nylon is very tear-resistant, durable, water-repellent and as a synthetic material also safe from moths. Decisive for the tear strength of nylon sets is yarn thickness, which is specified in denier (den). A higher yarn count, such as 1680D, is much more tear resistant than lower counts such as 600D.Nylon suitcases went out of style for a while because neither they nor their contents are adequately protected. Nylon can scuff and a hard shell protects the contents of the case from destruction much better than soft luggage. The big advantage and a reason for the resurgence of nylon, however, is its light weight, which is below all hard shells. Traveling nowadays mostly means flying and with a permitted cargo weight of 20-30kg, every kilogram counts. Other advantages of nylon as soft luggage are the increased suitability for the trunk (compressible), as well as the possibility to sew on additional outer pockets and extra compartments. Our popular nylon assortment consists of proven racers and perennial favorites such as the suitcase model "Bali" or "Copenhagen" and continuously new suitcase and travel sets.
